Pricing

FTMO (EUR, one-time)

  • 1-Step: €79 (10K), €199 (25K), €319 (50K), €499 (100K), €999 (200K).
  • 2-Step: €89 (10K), €250 (25K), €345 (50K), €540 (100K), €1,080 (200K).
  • Current deal: 19% off the 100K FTMO Challenge, applied automatically.

FundedNext (USD, one-time)

  • Stellar Lite: $32.99 (5K), $59.99 (10K), $139.99 (25K), $229.99 (50K), $399.99 (100K), $798.99 (200K).
  • Stellar 1-Step: $65.99 (6K), $129.99 (15K), $219.99 (25K), $329.99 (50K), $569.99 (100K), $1,099.99 (200K).
  • Stellar 2-Step: $59.99 (6K), $119.99 (15K), $199.99 (25K), $299.99 (50K), $549.99 (100K), $1,099.99 (200K).
  • Resets: 10% off the challenge price.

What this means: FundedNext has the lower entry point, and Stellar Lite undercuts FTMO's 2-Step at every matching size. At 100K, FTMO's 2-Step is €540 and FundedNext's 2-Step is $549.99, so the gap depends on the exchange rate and FTMO's 19% deal. Always compare final checkout prices.

Refunds

  • FTMO 2-Step: the official page lists the fee as 100% refundable after success.
  • FTMO 1-Step: not refundable.
  • FundedNext 2-Step: refunded with the first reward.
  • FundedNext 1-Step and Lite: refunded with the third reward.

Challenge rules

2-Step side by side

  • FTMO 2-Step: 10% then 5% targets, 5% daily loss, 10% static max loss, 4 minimum trading days, no time limit. Official rules.
  • FundedNext Stellar 2-Step: 8% then 5% targets, 5% daily loss, 10% static max loss, 5 minimum trading days per phase, no time limit. Official rules.

The loss limits match. FundedNext's Phase 1 target is 2 points lower, but it asks for 5 minimum days per phase against FTMO's 4.

1-Step side by side

  • FTMO 1-Step: 10% target, 3% daily loss, 10% max loss that trails on an end-of-day basis, a 50% best-day rule, no time limit. Official rules.
  • FundedNext Stellar 1-Step: 10% target, 3% daily loss, 6% static max loss based on initial balance, 2 minimum trading days, no time limit. Official rules.

This is the biggest difference. FTMO gives more room (10% vs 6%), but its floor trails your end-of-day high and it adds a best-day rule. FundedNext's floor never moves, but it is closer to start with. Our guide to trailing vs static drawdown explains why that matters.

FundedNext Stellar Lite

FTMO has no direct equivalent. Lite has 8% then 4% targets, a 4% daily loss, an 8% static max loss and 2 minimum days per phase. It suits traders who want a cheap two-phase test with lower targets.

Payouts and profit split

FTMO

  • Up to 90% of simulated profits. Our data shows the 2-Step starting at 80% and the 1-Step at 90%.
  • Payouts on request. The first claim is available 14 days after your first trade.

FundedNext

  • 80% base split, up to 95% with an add-on.
  • 1-Step: rewards every 5 business days, including the first.
  • 2-Step: first reward cycle is 21 days, then every 14 days.
  • Lite: bi-weekly, per our data.
  • FundedNext also pays 15% of the challenge profit target as a reward at the first scale-up, per its program pages.

What this means: FundedNext's 1-Step has the fastest regular cycle of the two firms. FTMO's on-request model is simpler but starts 14 days after your first trade. Our profit calculator shows what each split pays on a given profit.

Trading restrictions

FTMO

  • News trading and weekend holding are allowed during the evaluation.
  • On the funded Standard account, news trading is restricted and weekend holding is not allowed.
  • The Swing account allows weekend holding.
  • EAs are allowed.

FundedNext

  • News trading and weekend holding are allowed in the challenge and the funded account, per the Stellar pages. Read the funded news terms before relying on news trades.
  • EAs are allowed only on MT4/MT5 accounts under $50K, for an extra fee. Accounts of $50K and above, cTrader and Match-Trader are manual only.
  • The 1-Step page lists a 3% maximum risk at any time on funded accounts.

Downsides of each

FTMO

  • Prices are in EUR, which adds conversion costs for many traders.
  • The 1-Step fee is non-refundable and its drawdown trails.
  • Funded Standard accounts limit news and weekend trading unless you choose Swing.
  • The smallest account is 10K, so the entry price is higher than FundedNext's Lite.

FundedNext

  • No EAs on $50K+ accounts; smaller MT4/MT5 accounts pay an extra EA fee.
  • The 95% split requires an add-on; the base is 80%.
  • 1-Step and Lite fees come back only with the third reward.
  • The 1-Step's 6% max loss leaves less room against a 10% target.
  • A younger firm, founded in 2022.

Frequently asked questions

Is FTMO or FundedNext cheaper?

FundedNext has the lower entry price: $32.99 for Stellar Lite 5K against €79 for FTMO's 1-Step 10K. At larger sizes the gap narrows. FTMO's automatic 19% deal on the 100K can change the result, so compare final checkout prices.

Do either have a time limit?

No. FTMO lists an unlimited trading period on both challenges. FundedNext lists no time limit on all three Stellar programs. Minimum trading days still apply: 4 at FTMO on the 2-Step, and 2 or 5 per phase at FundedNext.

Which drawdown is easier to manage?

A static floor is simpler, because it never moves. FundedNext uses static drawdown everywhere. FTMO's 2-Step is static too, but its 1-Step trails your end-of-day high. Our drawdown calculator shows where your floor sits.

Can I trade with an EA?

At FTMO, yes, EAs are allowed. At FundedNext, only on MT4/MT5 accounts under $50K, for an extra fee. Check each firm's list of banned strategies before running any bot.

Which pays out sooner?

FundedNext's 1-Step pays every 5 business days, including the first reward. FTMO's first claim opens 14 days after your first trade. FundedNext's 2-Step starts with a 21-day cycle.
