Prop firm rules FAQ
What is a trailing drawdown?
A trailing drawdown moves your loss floor up as your account makes new highs. If you start at $50,000 with a $2,000 trailing drawdown and grow to $51,000, your floor rises from $48,000 to $49,000. Most futures firms trail until the floor reaches your starting balance, then lock it there.
Static vs trailing vs end-of-day trailing: which is easier?
Static drawdown is the most forgiving: the floor is fixed at a set amount below your starting balance and never moves. Intraday trailing is the strictest, because it follows your highest unrealized equity, even mid-trade. End-of-day trailing sits in between: the floor only updates from your closing balance each day.
What is a consistency rule?
A consistency rule caps how much of your total profit can come from a single day, for example 50%. If your best day is too large a share of your profit, you either need to keep trading until it falls under the cap or you can't request a payout yet. It's designed to stop one lucky trade from passing an evaluation.
How often is this database checked?
We re-check firms' official rules and pricing pages regularly and whenever a firm announces a change. Each challenge's detail page shows the date it was last verified and links to the exact source page we used.
