Prop Firms With No Time Limit

A time limit forces you to hit a profit target within a set number of days. That pressure pushes traders to size up and break rules. Many firms have dropped deadlines, but "no time limit" doesn't always mean what it sounds like. This guide lists only the firms whose own rules pages confirmed no time limit when we checked on 3 November 2026.

The confirmed list

  • FTMO: 1-Step and 2-Step, both listed with an "Unlimited" trading period.
  • FundedNext: Stellar 1-Step, 2-Step and Lite, each listed with no time limit.
  • The5ers: Hyper Growth, High Stakes and Bootcamp have no calendar deadline. Accounts close after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Topstep: the help center says there is "no time limit for passing" the Trading Combine. The subscription still rebills every 30 days.
  • Tradeify: the FAQ says there is no time limit to complete a Growth or Select evaluation. You must trade at least once a week.

Each firm has a catch. The details are below.

FTMO

FTMO's 1-Step and 2-Step challenge pages both list the trading period as unlimited.

  • 2-Step: 10% then 5% targets, 5% daily loss, 10% static max loss, 4 minimum trading days. From €89 for 10K. Official rules.
  • 1-Step: 10% target, 3% daily loss, 10% max loss that trails on an end-of-day basis, and a 50% best-day rule. From €79 for 10K. Official rules.

The catch: the 1-Step best-day rule means one big day can't carry you to the target. The 2-Step minimum of 4 days also applies. Read the FTMO review.

FundedNext

All three Stellar programs list no time limit and use a static drawdown based on your initial balance.

  • Stellar Lite: 8% then 4% targets, 4% daily loss, 8% max loss, 2 minimum days per phase. From $32.99 for 5K. Official rules.
  • Stellar 1-Step: 10% target, 3% daily loss, 6% max loss, 2 minimum days. From $65.99 for 6K.
  • Stellar 2-Step: 8% then 5% targets, 5% daily loss, 10% max loss, 5 minimum days per phase. From $59.99 for 6K.

The catch: EAs are allowed only on MT4/MT5 accounts under $50K, for an extra fee. The 1-Step's 6% max loss is tight against a 10% target. Read the FundedNext review.

The5ers

The5ers' program guide says no evaluation has a calendar deadline. Accounts close automatically after 30 consecutive days of inactivity. Official guide.

  • Hyper Growth (1-Step): 10% target, 6% stop-out from the initial balance. A 3% daily loss pauses trading for that day only.
  • High Stakes (2-Step): 10% overall max loss and a 3 trading-day minimum. The 100K costs $149 (10%/5% version) or $179 (8%/5% version).
  • Bootcamp (3-Step): 6% target per step and a 5% max loss per step. The $20K costs $72.

The catch: the inactivity rule. If you take a month off, you lose the account. The5ers' own pages also disagree on some figures, so check the program page before buying. Read the The5ers review.

Topstep

Topstep's subscription article says there is no time limit for passing the Trading Combine. Official article.

  • 6% profit target: $3,000, $6,000 or $9,000 on the 50K, 100K and 150K.
  • End-of-day trailing max loss of $2,000, $3,000 or $4,500, which locks at the starting balance.
  • Daily loss limit is optional and chosen at checkout.
  • A 55% consistency target: your best day should stay below 55% of the profit target.

The catch: time costs money. The subscription rebills every 30 days until you pass or cancel: $49 a month for the 50K Standard Path, plus $149 activation when you pass. So "no time limit" here means no deadline, not no cost. Read the Topstep review.

Tradeify

Tradeify's FAQ states: "There is no time limit to complete a Growth or Select Evaluation." Official FAQ.

  • Growth: 6% target, end-of-day trailing drawdown, a daily loss limit, 1 minimum trading day. From $99 for 25K, one-time.
  • Select: 6% target, no daily loss limit, 3 minimum days and a 40% consistency rule during the evaluation. From $109 for 25K, one-time.

The catch: you must place at least one trade per week on each evaluation account. Otherwise the account can be closed after an email warning. Lightning instant-funded accounts have no evaluation, so the question doesn't apply. Read the Tradeify review.

Firms we left off, and why

Our database lists no time limit for two more firms we review. We couldn't confirm it clearly on their official pages today:

  • My Funded Futures: its help article on time limits says there is "no set time limit". The same article also says the time limit "is 30 days but gets extended every time a subscription is renewed". MFFU now sells one-time plans, so the wording looks out of date. Ask support before you rely on it.
  • Take Profit Trader: the official pages we checked did not state a time limit either way. Subscriptions bill every 30 days until cancelled.

We will add them if their official rules confirm it.

What "no time limit" doesn't cover

  • Inactivity rules. The5ers closes accounts after 30 days without activity. Tradeify wants a trade every week.
  • Minimum trading days. You still need FTMO's 4 days on the 2-Step, or FundedNext's 5 days per phase on the 2-Step.
  • Subscription costs. On Topstep, every extra month adds a rebill.
  • Consistency rules. Topstep's 55% target, Tradeify Select's 40% and FTMO 1-Step's 50% best-day rule all reward steady days.
  • Funded account rules. Once funded, you face different limits, such as payout caps and news restrictions.

How to use unlimited time well

  1. Lower your risk per trade. Without a deadline, there's no reason to rush. Risk a small fraction of your daily loss limit. Our position size calculator turns that into lots or contracts.
  2. Set a weekly goal, not a daily one. Aim for a slice of the target each week. Our profit target calculator breaks it down.
  3. Stop after a bad day. A deadline-free account lets you walk away and come back tomorrow.
  4. Respect the consistency rule. Cap your best day below the firm's limit. Read consistency rules explained.
  5. Keep the account active. Place a trade at least weekly if the firm has an inactivity rule.

Frequently asked questions

Is a challenge with no time limit easier to pass?

Not by itself. The profit target and loss limits are the same. What changes is the pressure. Without a deadline you can trade smaller and skip poor setups, which makes rule breaches less likely.

Does no time limit cost more?

On one-time-fee programs, no: FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers and Tradeify charge once however long you take. On a subscription such as Topstep's, each extra month adds a rebill.

Can I take a break during a challenge?

Check the inactivity rule first. The5ers closes accounts after 30 days without activity. Tradeify can close an evaluation without a weekly trade.

Which no-time-limit firm fits you?

  • Forex trader who wants the most room: FTMO 2-Step or FundedNext 2-Step, both with a static 10% max loss.
  • Forex beginner on a small budget: FundedNext Stellar Lite from $32.99, or The5ers Hyper Growth with its daily pause.
  • Futures trader who trades slowly: Tradeify, because a one-time fee doesn't grow with time.
  • Futures trader who expects to pass quickly: Topstep, where a fast pass keeps subscription costs low.
