Tradeify Rules Explained: Select, Growth and Lightning
Tradeify Select, Growth and Lightning rules in plain English: prices, drawdown, daily limits, consistency, Flex vs Daily payouts and payout caps.

Tradeify sells three futures account types: the Select evaluation, the Growth evaluation and Lightning Funded, its instant funding account. Each has its own drawdown, daily limit, consistency rule and payout policy. This guide explains them one by one, using Tradeify's help center as checked on 3 November 2026.
The three account types at a glance
- Select: evaluation with no daily loss limit, a 3-day minimum and a 40% consistency rule. After passing, you choose a Flex or Daily payout policy.
- Growth: evaluation with a soft daily loss limit, a 1-day minimum and no consistency rule. The funded stage adds a 35% consistency rule.
- Lightning: no evaluation. You start funded, with a progressive consistency rule and no resets.
All three are one-time purchases with no activation fee. Our Tradeify review covers the firm as a whole.
Prices
From Tradeify's pricing reference:
- Select: $109 (25K), $165 (50K), $265 (100K), $369 (150K). Resets cost $75 to $239.
- Select with 50% consistency add-on: $135, $205, $329 and $459.
- Growth: $99 (25K), $145 (50K), $255 (100K), $369 (150K). Resets cost $60 to $229.
- Lightning: $345 (25K), $492 (50K), $660 (100K), $796 (150K). No resets.
Tradeify states that all sales are final and it does not offer refunds. It also lists a 5% bundle discount for five identical Growth or Select 25K or 50K accounts in one checkout.
Rules for every account
Some rules apply across the board. From Tradeify's essential rules overview and common FAQs:
- Drawdown: end-of-day trailing. It moves up only after a profitable close, but touching it in real time fails the account.
- Close: flat by 4:45 PM ET on regular days. No overnight holding. Open positions are closed automatically without failing the account.
- Activity: at least one trade per week, Monday to Friday.
- News: allowed on all accounts.
- Time limit: none on Growth or Select evaluations.
- Funded limit: up to 5 funded accounts per household.
- Split: 90/10 on Sim Funded accounts.
- Platforms: Tradovate (with NinjaTrader and TradingView), Rithmic (with TradeSea, Quantower, Sierra Chart and R|Trader) or WealthCharts.
Select evaluation
Evaluation rules
From Tradeify's Select article:
- Profit target: $1,500 (25K), $3,000 (50K), $6,000 (100K), $9,000 (150K).
- Max drawdown: $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 or $4,500, end of day.
- Daily loss limit: none.
- Max contracts: 1, 4, 8 or 12 minis (10, 40, 80 or 120 micros).
- Minimum days: 3.
- Consistency: 40% during the evaluation, or 50% with the add-on.
- Drawdown lock: the floor locks permanently. Tradeify lists lock levels of $25,100, $50,100, $100,100 and $150,100.
Tradeify notes that 50K accounts bought before its new dashboard launched keep a $2,500 target.
Choosing Flex or Daily
When you pass, you pick a payout policy. The choice is permanent for that account. Both need positive net profit in each payout cycle. Details come from the Flex and Daily policy article.
Select Flex:
- Same drawdown as the evaluation, and no daily loss limit.
- A payout every 5 winning days. A winning day means at least $100, $150, $200 or $250 by size.
- Each payout is up to 50% of total profit. For accounts bought after 1 September 2026, caps are $1,250, $2,500, $3,500 and $4,500.
- No consistency rule, no buffer, and a $250 minimum payout.
Select Daily:
- Tighter drawdown: $1,000, $2,000, $2,500 or $3,500.
- A daily loss limit: $500, $1,000, $1,250 or $1,750.
- Daily payout eligibility. Each request is up to twice the profit since your last one.
- Caps for accounts bought after 1 September 2026: $600, $1,250, $1,750 and $2,500.
- A buffer of $1,100, $2,100, $2,600 or $3,600. You can't withdraw below it.
- No consistency rule and a $250 minimum payout.
What this means: Flex keeps more room but pays less often. Daily pays more often but adds a daily limit and shrinks the drawdown on larger sizes. See the Select 50K rules page for one size in detail.
Growth evaluation
Evaluation rules
From Tradeify's Growth article:
- Profit target: $1,500 (25K), $3,000 (50K), $6,000 (100K), $9,000 (150K).
- Max drawdown: $1,000, $2,000, $3,500 or $5,000, end of day.
- Daily loss limit: $600, $1,250, $2,500 or $3,750. It is a soft breach: trading stops for the day, but the account is not failed.
- Max contracts: 1, 4, 8 or 12 minis.
- Minimum days: 1, so you can pass in one day.
- Consistency: none in the evaluation.
Growth funded payouts
From the Growth payout policy:
- Qualifying days: 5 per payout, each above $100, $150, $200 or $250 by size. The count resets after each payout.
- Minimum balance to request: $26,500 (25K), $53,000 (50K), $104,500 (100K), $156,500 (150K).
- Caps: they rise with each payout. On a 50K they run $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, then $3,000 from the fourth payout. The 25K is $1,000 throughout.
- Minimum payout: $250, $500, $1,000 or $1,500.
- Consistency: 35% on each payout request.
What this means: Growth can be passed in a single day, but the funded stage asks more. You need a $3,000 cushion on a 50K before the first request. See the Growth 50K rules page.
Lightning Funded (instant funding)
Account rules
From Tradeify's Lightning article:
- Max drawdown: $1,000 (25K), $2,000 (50K), $4,000 (100K), $5,250 (150K), end-of-day trailing.
- Daily loss limit: none on 25K. $1,250, $2,500 or $3,000 on larger sizes, as a soft breach.
- Max contracts: 1, 4, 8 or 12 minis.
- Consistency: 20% for the first payout, 25% for the second, then 30%.
- Minimum days: none.
Lightning payouts
From the Lightning payout policy:
- Profit goal for payout 1: $1,500, $3,000, $6,000 or $9,000. Tradeify stresses this is not the amount you can withdraw.
- Profit goal from payout 2: $1,000, $2,000, $3,500 or $4,500 per cycle.
- Caps for payouts 1 to 3: $1,000, $2,000, $2,500 or $3,000.
- Caps from payout 4: $1,000, $2,500, $3,000 or $3,500.
- Minimum payout: $1,000.
What this means: you skip the evaluation, but the first payout still needs the same profit as an evaluation target. The 20% consistency rule is strict. On a 50K, your best day can be no more than $600 of a $3,000 total. Use the consistency calculator to check your own numbers. Our guide to instant funding prop firms covers the cost trade-off.
Banned practices
Tradeify's guidelines for traders ban the following:
- Hedging: no opposing positions on the same instrument or on two products in the same product group. This applies in one account or across several.
- HFT: high-frequency trading bots are not allowed.
- Bots: allowed only if you own the strategy and no one else uses it. Using it across firms breaks the policy.
- Exploiting errors: trading price display errors or update delays can end the account.
A microscalping rule applies on funded accounts only. Over 50% of your trades and profits must come from trades held longer than 10 seconds. If not, you can't request a payout, but the account is not failed.
Downsides to weigh
- Three account types and two Select payout policies make the rules hard to compare.
- The end-of-day trailing drawdown leaves little room early on.
- Growth's funded stage adds a 35% consistency rule and high minimum balances.
- Lightning costs about two to three times a Select evaluation of the same size and can't be reset.
- Every account has payout caps, and fees are non-refundable.
Common questions
Which Tradeify account is easiest to pass?
Growth has the lowest bar: one minimum day and no evaluation consistency rule. It does have a soft daily loss limit. Select has no daily limit but needs 3 days and a 40% consistency rule.
Does Tradeify charge an activation fee?
No. Tradeify says there are no activation fees on any current account type.
Can I hold trades overnight at Tradeify?
No. You must be flat by 4:45 PM ET on regular days. Positions left open are closed automatically.
Is Lightning worth it over an evaluation?
It depends on your pass rate. Lightning removes the evaluation but costs more, has no resets and uses a strict 20% first-payout consistency rule. Check our discounts page before you buy any account.
