Notes

The FTMO 2-Step $200K is a 2-Step challenge from FTMO on a $200K account. It costs €1,080, and the fee is refundable under the firm's conditions. Here are its rules in plain English, from our database row last checked against FTMO's official pages on 3 November 2026.

What you need to pass

  • Profit target: 10% ($20,000) in phase 1, then 5% ($10,000) in phase 2.
  • Daily loss limit: 5% ($10,000). Losing more than this in one trading day breaks the rule.
  • Maximum drawdown: 10% ($20,000), a static limit: the floor is fixed below your starting balance and never moves up.
  • Minimum trading days: 4.
  • Time limit: Unlimited.
  • Profit split once funded: 80% to you.

Trading rules

  • News trading: Allowed during Challenge/Verification; restricted on funded Standard account (2 min before/after selected releases); unrestricted on Swing account.
  • Overnight and weekend holding: Allowed during evaluation; not on funded Standard account; yes on Swing account.
  • EAs and automation: Allowed.

What it means in practice

As an illustration, risking 1% of the account per trade ($2,000) gives you room for 5 full losses in a row before the daily limit and 10 before the maximum drawdown. Many traders size smaller, around 0.25–0.5%, so a bad day can't end the account. Use our position size calculator to turn a dollar risk into lots or contracts.

Because the floor is fixed, every dollar of profit adds to your room. That makes the start of the challenge the riskiest part.
