FTMO Launches the Instant Account: No Challenge, Stricter Rules

FTMO announced the FTMO Instant Account on 12 October 2026. It is a simulated account that is active on purchase, with no Challenge or Verification stage. FTMO itself says the trading objectives are stricter than on its 1-Step and 2-Step Challenges.

What changed

Until now, the main FTMO routes were the 1-Step Challenge and the 2-Step Challenge. The Instant Account adds a third route. You pay a one-time fee and start trading the account straight away. There is no queue or waiting period.

Key terms from FTMO

  • Account sizes: $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K and $100K.
  • Price: the announcement gives a range of 189 to 3,399 (shown with a $ sign). It does not list the price for each size.
  • Max Daily Loss: 3%.
  • Max Loss: 10%, intraday trailing and balance-based.
  • Consistency rule: 30%.
  • Leverage: up to 1:100.
  • Trading period: unlimited.
  • Reward split: 90%.

The announcement does not state payout timing or name the supported platforms. Check the product page and checkout before you buy.

Who it affects

FTMO aims the account at traders who want to act on a setup without waiting. It also targets traders who already have trades open on other FTMO accounts, and new traders who want direct access. The launch does not change the existing Challenge rules.

Downsides to weigh

  • Tight daily limit. A 3% daily loss leaves little room. One bad session can end the account.
  • Trailing max loss. An intraday trailing limit rises as your balance grows. Our trailing vs static drawdown guide explains the risk.
  • Consistency rule. A 30% rule limits how much profit can come from one day. See consistency rules explained.
  • Fee at risk from day one. You skip the evaluation, but you also lose the fee if you breach early.

What traders should do

  1. Read the official FTMO announcement and the Instant Account page.
  2. Test your risk per trade against a 3% daily limit with our drawdown calculator.
  3. Compare the cost and rules with a standard Challenge in our FTMO review.

All FTMO accounts are simulated and use fictitious funds.
