FundedNext Stellar Challenge Rules: 1-Step, 2-Step and Lite
FundedNext Stellar 1-Step, 2-Step and Lite rules compared: targets, daily loss formula, static max loss, trading days, payouts, refunds and prices.

FundedNext's Stellar range has three CFD challenges: Stellar 1-Step, Stellar 2-Step and Stellar Lite. All three use a static maximum loss and have no time limit. They differ in targets, loss limits, trading days, payout timing and how the fee is refunded.
This guide sets out each model's rules from FundedNext's own pages and help center, checked on 3 November 2026. Every account size is also listed in our prop firm rules database.

How the daily loss limit works
FundedNext's help article on calculating the daily loss limit is worth reading in full. The key points:
- The base is your initial balance. On a $100K Stellar 2-Step, the daily allowance is $5,000 (5% of $100,000). It does not grow when your balance grows.
- Open trades count. The day's loss is closed results plus floating results from open positions. Swaps, commissions and fees count too.
- Same-day profit adds room. If you are up $5,000 on the day, you could lose up to $10,000 from that point before breaching. Profit from earlier days does not add room.
- It resets at 00:00 server time. FundedNext's server runs on GMT+3 during daylight saving time and GMT+2 otherwise.
The midnight trap
FundedNext's own example shows a common breach. You close $2,000 in profit, then hold a trade showing a $6,000 floating loss. Before midnight, your net daily loss is $4,000, which is inside the $5,000 limit.
After midnight, the $2,000 profit belongs to yesterday. The $6,000 floating loss now counts against a new day on its own. That breaches the limit.
The lesson: do not carry large floating losses across the reset. Our daily loss limit guide covers other variants of this rule.
Static maximum loss
On every Stellar model, the maximum loss is based on your initial balance. It does not trail your profits.
- $100K Stellar 1-Step: equity must stay above $94,000 (6%).
- $100K Stellar 2-Step: above $90,000 (10%).
- $100K Stellar Lite: above $92,000 (8%).
A static floor means every dollar of profit adds to your cushion. Compare that with the trailing limits explained in trailing vs static drawdown. Use the drawdown calculator to find your exact floor.
Which Stellar model fits you?
Stellar 1-Step
One 10% target with a 6% maximum loss and 3% daily limit. The loss limits are tight relative to the target. It suits traders with a high win rate and small, controlled losses. The upside is speed: 2 minimum days and rewards every 5 business days.
Stellar 2-Step
The most room for error: 5% daily and 10% maximum loss. You need 13% in total across two phases and at least 5 trading days in each. The fee comes back with your first reward rather than your third.
Stellar Lite
The cheapest entry, from $32.99 for $5K. Targets of 8% and 4% sit between the other two models. Limits are 4% daily and 8% maximum. The trade-off is a refund only with the 3rd reward.
Challenge-phase reward
The 1-Step and 2-Step pages say FundedNext pays 15% of the challenge profit target at the first scale-up. On a $6K 2-Step, the page lists this as $117. Check the Lite page for whether it applies to your model.
Profit split
FundedNext advertises "up to 95%" of the performance reward. Its rules tables list an 80% base share on the 2-Step and Lite. Our research indicates the higher split requires a paid add-on. Check the split shown at checkout for the model and add-ons you choose.
Trading rules: news, weekends, EAs, leverage
- News trading: allowed in the challenge and on the funded account. Funded rules list a 40% figure for news-trading profit, so read FundedNext's news terms before relying on news trades.
- Weekend holding: allowed in the challenge and on the funded account.
- EAs: allowed only on MT4 and MT5 accounts under $50,000, with an extra EA fee. Accounts of $50,000 and above must trade manually, including tools that only set SL, TP or lot size. No EAs on cTrader or Match-Trader. See the EA article.
- Leverage: forex 1:30, indices 1:10, commodities 1:15 (1:10 on Lite), crypto 1:1, stocks 1:2.
- Platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader and Match-Trader.
A worked example: $100K Stellar 2-Step
Here is how the numbers look on one account, using the rules above.
- Phase 1 target: $8,000 profit, so a balance of $108,000.
- Phase 2 target: $5,000 profit on a fresh $100,000 balance.
- Daily allowance: $5,000, plus any profit made the same day.
- Floor: $90,000 equity in both phases.
- Minimum time: 5 trading days per phase, so at least 10 in total.
A trader risking 0.5% ($500) per trade would need about 10 losing trades in one day to reach the daily limit. That is a deliberately conservative pace, and there is no clock forcing you to go faster. The position size calculator converts that dollar risk into lots for your stop distance.
Downsides to weigh
- The daily limit is measured on equity, including open trades, swaps and fees.
- Stellar 1-Step's 6% maximum loss leaves little room against a 10% target.
- 1-Step and Lite fees are refunded only with the 3rd reward.
- EAs cost extra and are banned on $50K+ accounts.
- Marketing headlines (95%) and rules tables (80%) differ, so read the fine print.
