FTMO vs Tradeify: Forex/CFD vs Futures Compared

FTMO and Tradeify are not direct rivals. FTMO's Challenges are for forex and CFD traders. Tradeify sells futures evaluations on CME products. So the first question is which market you want to trade, not which firm is better. This comparison uses prices and rules checked on each firm's official pages on 3 November 2026.

Choose your market first

Forex and CFD accounts usually allow overnight and weekend holding and give drawdown as a percentage. Futures accounts give a dollar drawdown, close you out each afternoon and price by contract. Our guide to forex vs futures prop firms walks through the choice.

One twist: FTMO now also sells FTMO Futures. Its Futures comparison table lists Growth plans from $119 a month and Pro plans from $139 a month, with an end-of-day trailing drawdown and no activation fee. We cover it in FTMO launches FTMO Futures. This guide compares FTMO's forex and CFD Challenges with Tradeify. If you want futures at both, compare FTMO Futures with Tradeify directly.

Prices

FTMO (one-time, EUR)

  • 1-Step: €79 (10K), €199 (25K), €319 (50K), €499 (100K), €999 (200K).

FTMO's fees FAQ says there are no recurring fees. The 2-Step fee is refunded when you request your first reward. Other FTMO fees are non-refundable. FTMO's homepage was also advertising 19% off the 100K Challenge.

Profit targets and loss limits

FTMO

From FTMO's trading objectives:

  • 2-Step: 10% target, then 5% in Verification. Max Daily Loss 5%. Max Loss 10%. At least 4 trading days.
  • 1-Step: 10% target. Max Daily Loss 3%. Max Loss 10%. For orders from 12 October 2026, your best day must not exceed 50% of total profit.
  • Time limit: none on either.

Tradeify

Targets and max loss per our rules database; daily limits from Tradeify's trading rules overview:

  • Target: $1,500 (25K) and $3,000 (50K) on Growth and Select. Select 150K needs $9,000.
  • Max loss: $1,000 (25K) and $2,000 (50K).
  • Daily loss (Growth evaluation): $600 (25K), $1,250 (50K), $2,500 (100K), $3,750 (150K).
  • Daily loss (Select evaluation): none.
  • Consistency: 40% on the Select evaluation. None on the Growth evaluation, then 35% on Growth funded accounts.
  • Speed: Tradeify says Growth can be passed in 1 day and Select in 3.

What this means: a 50K FTMO 2-Step gives 5,000 of room (10%) against a 10% first-phase target. A 50K Tradeify account gives $2,000 (4%) against a 6% target. Futures accounts are cheaper, but the room is much tighter relative to the target.

Drawdown type

  • FTMO 2-Step: static. The floor sits 10% below your starting capital and never moves.
  • FTMO 1-Step: end-of-day trailing. The floor follows your highest midnight balance and can only rise.
  • Tradeify: end-of-day trailing on all evaluation and funded accounts. It is enforced in real time, so touching it intraday fails the account.

Our guide to trailing vs static drawdown explains why a static floor gives more room after early profits. Check your own floor with the drawdown calculator.

Payouts and profit split

FTMO

From FTMO's withdrawal FAQ:

  • Split: 90% on 1-Step. 80% by default on 2-Step, rising to 90% under the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme.
  • First claim: on day 14 or later after your first funded trade.
  • Speed: reviewed in 1 to 2 business days, then typically sent 1 to 2 business days after the invoice is approved.

Tradeify

  • Split: 90%, per its homepage.
  • Frequency: daily payouts on Select plans. Growth and Lightning list 5-day payouts.
  • Caps: payout caps apply per period on funded accounts, per our rules database.

Platforms and instruments

  • FTMO: MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, per its platforms FAQ. The homepage also lists DXtrade. You can trade any instrument on your platform: forex, indices, commodities, stocks and crypto.
  • Tradeify: Tradovate, WealthCharts, Rithmic and Tradesea on its homepage; our database also lists NinjaTrader. Products include index, metal, energy, currency, bond and crop futures.

Trading restrictions

Downsides of each

  • Higher upfront fees, and prices in EUR add conversion costs.
  • The 1-Step fee is non-refundable and its max loss trails.
  • The 2-Step default split is 80%.
  • Standard funded accounts restrict news and weekend holding.

Tradeify

  • Small dollar drawdowns relative to the target.
  • Three account types with different rules.
  • No refunds, and Lightning accounts can't be reset.
  • No overnight holding and weekly activity required.

Who each suits

  • FTMO may suit you if you trade forex or CFDs, hold trades overnight or longer, use MetaTrader or cTrader, and want a fee you can get back on the 2-Step.
  • Tradeify may suit you if you day-trade futures, want a low one-time fee with no activation charge, and are fine being flat every afternoon.
